BBOA Shines at the Joy of Autumn Gala in Lexington

In a night of wonder and enchantment, BBOA gave a dazzling performance of Beijing Opera, traditional Chinese music and folk dance. The beautiful and historic 800-seat Cary Hall in Lexington was filled to capacity as people from diverse cultures came to enjoy the ancient melodies, poetic lyrics, shimmering costumes and unique makeup art of Beijing Opera.

Enthusiastic applauses and joyful cheers erupted throughout the night as ancient tales came to life and stories of honor, bravery, and love unfolded on stage amidst brightly colored costumes, dazzling headdresses, unique artistic stage movements, soulful vocal expressions and heart-touching orchestra accompaniment.

The Gala is a milestone for BBOA as we embrace full scale performance for the first time post pandemic, and as we reach new heights in bringing the art of Beijing Opera to everyone around us.
